Alexander Barenboim joined TIFF in 2023 and serves as an Analyst in the Client CIO Group. He manages deliverables for both existing and potential clients, harnessing his expertise to demonstrate TIFF’s investment capabilities, perform financial analysis, evaluate portfolio drivers, gather data, support research efforts, contribute to special projects, and collaborate closely with the Client Development team to advance client relationships and prospecting initiatives.
Alexander earned a BA in Finance from Bentley University and an MBA from the University’s McCallum Graduate School of Business.
Amy Paterson joined TIFF in 2022 and serves as an Associate Director, Marketing and Communications. She focuses on managing the organization’s digital presence, overseeing branding and marketing efforts, developing content strategies, organizing industry conferences and virtual events, handling public relations, and managing social media and email marketing.
Prior to joining TIFF, Amy worked in several marketing roles at 3SI Security Systems, where she most recently served as Marketing Coordinator. In this role, Amy was responsible for developing and managing market strategies and assets to drive business growth for the financial division.
Amy earned a BS in Marketing from Shippensburg University and is currently a member of WIN Philadelphia.
Sam Gross joined TIFF in 2021 and serves as a Director in the Client CIO Group. She works with clients and perspective clients to identify an asset allocation strategy that best matches their distinctive risk and return considerations. In this role, she is responsible for delivering TIFF’s comprehensive investment management solution to organizations in support of their mission and objectives.
Prior to joining TIFF, Sam was an Associate at Goldman Sachs in the Multi-Asset Solutions group, where she constructed and managed custom multi-asset portfolios for institutional clients globally.
Sam graduated with honors and magna cum laude from Brown University and holds a BA degree in Economics and East Asian Studies. She also sits on the investment committee for Combined Jewish Philanthropy (CJP) in Boston and is a Kol Atid Director on CJP’s board of directors.

Ellen Lieberman joined TIFF in 2021 and serves as a Managing Director, Client Development in the Client CIO Group. She works very closely with the OCIO search consultants and spends a great deal of time enhancing those relationships for TIFF.
Prior to joining TIFF, Ms. Lieberman was a Managing Director for Strategic Development at Clearbrook. Prior to that, she was with Cowen and Convergex working with foundations, endowments, corporations, and pension plans administering their commission recapture programs.
She holds a BA from SUNY Oneonta and a Masters Degree from Hofstra University. Ms. Lieberman holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses.

Jessica Portis, CFA joined TIFF in 2020 and serves as Chief Client Officer. In this role, she collaborates closely with the investment and client-facing teams to develop and execute investment solutions that cater to the unique objectives of TIFF’s clients. Prior to joining TIFF, Jess was a Partner at Mercer, where she oversaw the delivery of investment-related services to both advisory and OCIO nonprofit clients. Additionally, she spent 15 years at Summit Strategies Group, where she held various roles across the consulting and research groups.
In recognition of her leadership and contributions to the industry, Jess was named one of Pensions & Investments’ 2025 Influential Women in Institutional Investing. Following this recognition, Jess was selected to serve on the Advisory Board for Pensions & Investments’ 2026 Influential Women in Institutional Investing program, acting as an ambassador and helping guide the next generation of women leaders in institutional investing.
Jess is deeply committed to supporting nonprofit organizations and currently serves on the board of The Whitfield School. She is also on the endowment/investment committees of the Center for Creative Arts (COCA) of St. Louis and the Missouri Foundation for Health.
Jess holds a BS degree in Accounting from the University of Missouri – St. Louis and is a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) charterholder. She is also a member of the TIFF Advisory Services (TAS) Board.
