As CEO, Robert provides leadership for all aspects of UVIMCO’s operations and serves as UVIMCO’s primary representative to the University, related foundations, and the public. As CIO, Robert is responsible for the investment management of UVIMCO’s Long Term Pool, overseeing the asset allocation, portfolio management, risk management, and manager selection activities of the investment staff.
Prior to joining UVIMCO, Robert served as Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, where he oversaw the hospital’s Foundation and other investment assets, totaling approximately $3 billion. Robert was previously the Managing Director of Private Investments at Morgan Creek Capital Management, and directed $4.5 billion of private investments across private equity, energy and natural resources, and real estate. He has also worked with Legg Mason/Western Asset Management, Ritchie Capital Management, and Merrill Lynch’s Middle Market M&A group.
Robert received a B.A. in economics, magna cum laude, from Princeton University, and an M.B.A. in finance and entrepreneurship, with honors, from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Robert is a CFA charterholder.

Mark Baumgartner is the CEO/CIO of the University of Florida Investment Corporation (UFICO). Previously, he has served as Chief Investment Officer of the Dalio Family Office (DFO), a philanthropic organization focused on health, conservation, and education. Prior to DFO, he was CIO at Carnegie Corporation of New York, a private foundation supporting peace, democracy, and education, and CIO at the Institute for Advanced Study, a research foundation in Princeton, New Jersey. His previous roles include Director of Asset Allocation and Risk at the Ford Foundation and co-head of Morgan Stanley’s institutional solutions group.
Before joining Morgan Stanley, Mark was a Portfolio Manager at two hedge funds: Quantal Asset Management, a quantitative equity market neutral fund, and Strategy Capital, a fundamental equity fund. He began his career as a management consultant.
Mark is a member of the Board of Directors of Scientific Technologies Ltd, Chair of The Investment Fund for Foundations Investment Program (TIP), and a Trustee and Chair of the Investment Committee for the YMCA Retirement Fund. He served on the Board of Directors and Investment Program Committee for the Foundation Financial Officers Group (FFOG).
He received a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering and a Certificate in Public Policy from Princeton University. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

In 2003, Richard Flannery joined TIFF to serve as the second CEO in company history, a position in which he remained until his retirement in 2020. In 2023, Mr. Flannery became the sole Director of TAS II, Inc. In this role, he brings his historic ties to TIFF, and his expertise and experience, as he monitors TIFF’s implementation of the pledges it has made regarding nonprofit expenditures. As an employee-owned public benefit limited liability company, TIFF is committed to supporting the nonprofit community. Mr. Flannery’s stewardship will be a significant part of that commitment as TIFF funds educational programs, makes charitable gifts, and offers voluntary fee waivers.
Richard holds a BS, summa cum laude, in sociology from Saint Joseph’s University, and a JD, cum laude, from Harvard Law School. In addition to his association with TIFF, over the years Mr. Flannery has served on numerous boards within both the nonprofit and for profit sectors.
