Herbie Bohnet joined TIFF in May 2008 and focuses primarily on legal matters related to alternative investments. Herbie was previously an associate in the Boston office of Ropes & Gray LLP where he represented institutional investors, including leading endowments. He received his BSE in biomedical and mechanical engineering from Duke University and his JD from Stanford Law School.

Mary Bradley joined TIFF in January 2008. She is responsible for document management functions at TIFF. Prior to joining TIFF, Ms. Bradley was a records associate with GlaxoSmithKline in the US research and development division. She previously spent 14 years as a records manager with the Access Group.

Tamara Broad joined TIFF in June 2004. She has managed multiple departments at TIFF including member and outreach services, as well as human resources. Prior to joining TIFF, Ms. Broad worked at Freddie Mac and at the Federal Agricultural Mortgage Corporation (Farmer Mac). She received her BS in accounting from George Mason University and her MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. She is a certified public accountant and a CFA charterholder.

Laura Brown joined TIFF in August 2006. Working closely with TIFF's senior investment professionals, she performs investment research and analysis for the absolute return division. She received her BA in economics with a  secondary concentration in biology from Amherst College.

James Butcher joined TIFF in June 2008. Mr. Butcher focuses on the TIFF marketable investments program. His responsibilities include trade execution, portfolio analytics, and market research. He received his BA in economics from Middlebury College.

Wesley Carroccio joined TIFF in September 2005. Ms. Carroccio handles a variety of human resource and operational tasks. She was previously employed by Philadelphia Insurance Companies as an underwriter and Delaware Investments where she was a marketing associate. She received her BA in English from Saint Joseph’s University.

Ben Chiquoine joined TIFF in July 2008. A research analyst, he works closely with TIFF's senior investment professionals on capital markets research and other projects requiring quantitative analysis. Prior to joining TIFF, Mr. Chiquoine was employed by the Federal Reserve Board as a research assistant. He received his BA in mathematical economics and computer science from Colorado College.

Neil Conway joined TIFF in June 2007. He handles member services and works closely with the TIFF Keystone Program members. Prior to joining TIFF, Mr. Conway was employed by SEI, where he was an account director on the relationship management team in Global Fund Services. He received his BS in business administration from LaSalle University.

Michael Costa joined TIFF in October 2001.  He selects and monitors external investment advisors for TIFF's absolute return and mutual fund programs.  Prior to joining TIFF, Mr. Costa performed similar functions for Pine Grove Associates, a firm administering multi-manager investment vehicles, where his responsibilities included overseeing four hedge fund pools, developing portfolio management tools, and overseeing back office operations.  Prior to joining Pine Grove Associates, Mr. Costa was a senior project engineer with BCM Engineers, Inc.  He earned his BS and MS in civil engineering from Bucknell University and his MBA from Duke University.

Taylor Davis joined TIFF in October 2005. Working closely with TIFF's senior investment professionals, he performs investment research and analysis across all asset divisions within TIFF. Mr. Davis spends a significant portion of his time on realty and resources matters. He received his BA in English from Middlebury College.

Maureen Distel joined TIFF in May 2007. Her primary responsibilities include bookkeeping and payroll for TIFF. Prior to joining TIFF, Ms. Distel spent eight years with The Creative Financial Group as a senior accountant. She also served as staff accountant for Liberty Technologies.

Chris Douvos joined TIFF in July 2004. He selects and monitors external investment advisors for TIFF, focusing primarily on private equity. Prior to joining TIFF, Mr. Douvos performed similar functions at Princeton University Investment Company.  During his three years at Princeton, Mr. Douvos was also involved in asset allocation and portfolio risk assessment efforts.  Before joining Princeton, Mr. Douvos was a strategy consultant and equity analyst at Monitor Company.  He received his BA in history from Yale College and his MBA from the Yale School of Management.  He is also a CFA charterholder.

Mona ElNaggar joined TIFF in March 2007. She selects and monitors external investment advisors for TIFF. Prior to joining TIFF, Ms. ElNaggar spent over 11 years at Morgan Stanley, holding a series of increasingly senior positions in the firm's merger and acquisitions, corporate finance, and securitization divisions. Ms. ElNaggar spent most of these 11 years in the UK and continues to live there, working in TIFF's London office. She received her BA in economics from the University of Chicago and her MBA from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business.

Richard Flannery joined TIFF in July 2003.  He serves as chief executive officer with overall responsibility for all of TIFF’s activities.  He also serves as president and CEO of TIP, TIFF's mutual fund affiliate.  Prior to joining TIFF, Mr. Flannery was executive vice president of the global money management firm Delaware Investments.  During his 14-year tenure at Delaware Investments, he supervised multiple departments in the firm and played a key role in the firm’s transition from a domestic to a global investment management firm.  He holds a BS summa cum laude in sociology from St. Joseph’s University and a JD cum laude from Harvard Law School.

Susanne Francis joined TIFF in August 2001. She handles TIFF’s investor education matters, special projects including coordinating investor meetings and educational seminars, and assists with member and outreach services. She was previously employed by HarbourVest Partners in Boston. Ms. Francis received her BS in kinesiology from the University of New Hampshire.

Dina Furphy joined TIFF in October 2006. She handles administrative and operational matters. She was previously employed by Aqua Pharmaceuticals as an executive assistant and sales support representative. Prior to working with Aqua Pharmaceuticals, Ms. Furphy was employed by ATX Communications for six years as a senior account manager. She received her BS cum laude in marketing from St. Joseph's University.

Lodge Gillespie joined TIFF in April 1998.  Mr. Gillespie selects and monitors external investment advisors, focusing primarily on realty and resource managers.  His prior experience includes three years with Money Market Directories, Inc., a research and publishing division of Standard & Poor’s that tracks the pension investment industry.  Mr. Gillespie received his BA in history from Colgate University and his MA, also in history, from the University of Virginia.  He is a CFA charterholder.

Natalie Greco joined TIFF in February 2007. Ms. Greco handles a variety of administrative and operational tasks for TIFF's member services and outreach team. Ms. Greco focuses on graphic design, including presentation materials, publications, and web design. She was previously employed by the Iowa Department of Public Health as a child health intern. She received her BA in advertising from Iowa State University.

Allison Haas joined TIFF in April 2007. She handles a variety of administrative and operational tasks. Prior to joining TIFF, Ms. Haas worked as a marketing coordinator at JAMS, a mediation and arbitration firm in New York City. She received her BS in exercise science with a minor in business from Bloomsburg University.

Zane Hamid joined TIFF in December 2006. His primary responsibilities include analysis and monitoring of managers for the TIFF marketable investments program. Prior to joining TIFF, Mr. Hamid was employed by SEI, where he worked in alternative investments operations. He received his BS in accounting from Cabrini College and is currently working towards a masters in financial services from Saint Joseph's University.

Philip Hopkins joined TIFF in February 2007. His primary responsibilities include analysis and monitoring of managers and financial reporting for the TIFF private investment program. Mr. Hopkins was previously with Grant Thornton LLP (GT) providing attestation services for financial institutions and private investment clients. Prior to GT, Philip was employed as an internal auditor with Thomas Jefferson University/Hospital. He received his BS in accounting from East Carolina University and is a certified public accountant.

Paul Horvitz joined TIFF in June 2008. He contributes to and helps edit TIFF publications, reports and educational materials. Prior to joining TIFF, Mr. Horvitz was senior editor at Bloomberg Markets magazine and directed the creation of in-depth articles from the Americas for Bloomberg LP's news division. He previously held a variety of newspaper reporting and editing positions, including deputy managing editor of the International Herald Tribune in Paris and assistant national editor at The New York Times. He holds a BA degree from Harvard College.

John Hylkema joined TIFF in October 2006.  His responsibilities include financial reporting and valuation analysis for the TIFF alternative and marketable investments programs.  Prior to joining TIFF, he performed a variety of functions at Prudential, Lucent, and AT&T including balance sheet and income statement analysis, financial reporting, business planning and budgeting, and business development through mergers and acquisitions.  Mr. Hylkema received his BS in accounting and business administration from Montclair State University.

Masa Kimura joined TIFF in March 2007. Mr. Kimura is a member of TIFF's technology team. He is responsible for all IT infrastructure including networking and phone services. Prior to joining TIFF, Mr. Kimura worked as a network manager for Gartmore International. He received his bachelors of engineering from Nihon University in Tokyo, Japan.

Brian Kordeck joined TIFF in July 2008. He works in TIFF's finance and accounting group with responsibilities across TIFF's marketable investments, absolute return, and private investments programs. Mr. Kordeck was previously an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers where he was part of the investment management audit practice. Mr. Kordeck received his BA in business administration with concentrations in management information systems and accounting from La Salle University.

Shannon Leik joined TIFF in November 2001. She handles member and outreach services and also assists with special projects. She was previously employed by Soltech Group in Charlottesville. Ms. Leik received her BA in Spanish from Dickinson College.

Tina Leiter joined TIFF in March 1999. She is the deputy compliance officer and secretary of TIFF Advisory Services. Prior to joining TIFF, Ms. Leiter spent eight years at Merrill Lynch, where she assisted with operations and investor account maintenance. Before Merrill Lynch, she was employed by Cambridge Associates. Ms. Leiter received her BA in business administration from Lynchburg College.

Cindy Lewis joined TIFF in August 2007. She works with TIFF's marketable and alternative investments programs. Ms. Lewis previously worked as an audit manager at Ernst & Young LLP (E&Y). At E&Y, Ms. Lewis worked extensively with registered and unregistered investment companies, trust companies, investment advisors and financial banking institutions. Ms. Lewis received her BS in accounting from the University of Pennsylvania and is a certified public accountant.

Dawn Lezon joined TIFF in July 2006. She manages TIFF's financial operations and fund analytics. Ms. Lezon was previously a partner in the Summit, NJ based accounting firm of Crane, Tonelli, Rosenberg & Co., LLP (CTR).  At CTR, she provided a variety of assurance, tax, and financial reporting services to hedge funds and funds of funds.  Prior to joining CTR, Ms. Lezon’s professional experience included five years at KPMG Peat Marwick and six years at Paine Webber. She received her BS in accounting from Muhlenberg College and an MBA in finance and international business from the Stern School of Business at NYU.   She is a certified public accountant.

Kelly Lundstrom joined TIFF in May 2006. She manages TIFF's fund operations and technology initiatives.  She also oversees the on-going analysis of TIFF's marketable investment vehicles.   Ms. Lundstrom worked for almost 11 years at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, where she managed a team responsible for the operational and administrative functions of the Institute’s investment department with approximately $11 billion in assets under management.  Ms. Lundstrom received her BA in English from Lafayette College.

Richelle Maestro joined TIFF in November 2005 as general counsel. She has overall responsibility for TIFF's legal and regulatory matters. Prior to joining TIFF, she was executive vice president and general counsel of Delaware Investments, where she had responsibility for both the legal and compliance functions. During her 13 years at Delaware Investments, Ms. Maestro provided legal services, counseling, and oversight with respect to all aspects of the firm’s business, including mutual funds and institutional asset management. She holds a BS in business administration from the University of Delaware and a JD from Villanova University School of Law.

Emily McCandless joined TIFF in May 2008. She handles administrative and operational matters for TIFF. She was previously employed by AmerisourceBergen as an executive assistant. Prior to working with AmerisourceBergen, she was employed by InterMetro Industries where she provided executive support.

John Merrill joined TIFF in May 2005 in a senior role focusing on asset allocation, selection and monitoring of external managers, and outreach. He has primary responsibility for the TIFF Keystone Program. Prior to joining TIFF, Mr. Merrill was a vice president in the private client services division of Credit Suisse First Boston where his responsibilities included investment policy formulation, portfolio management, and manager selection. Mr. Merrill received a BA with honors in history from Hamilton College and an MBA from the Yale School of Management.

John Neilson joined TIFF in December 2007. He handles a variety of tasks for TIFF's member services group. Mr. Neilson was previously employed by Vanguard where he held roles in high net worth client services and Vanguard's marketing group. Mr. Neilson received a BS in business administration from Bucknell University.

Chris Nelson joined TIFF in January 2007. His primary responsibilities include analysis and monitoring of managers for the TIFF marketable investments program. Prior to joining TIFF, Mr. Nelson was an account analyst at JP Morgan Chase. He received his BS in biology from Prairie View A&M University and his masters in healthcare administration from Saint Joseph's University.

Kelley Nolting joined TIFF in January 2004.  Her responsibilities include compilation of performance and accounting data for the TIFF absolute return program.  She was previously employed by Perrin Quarles Associates in Charlottesville, where she was an accounting assistant.  Ms. Nolting received her BS in international management and Spanish from Butler University.

Erin O'Connor joined TIFF in January 2007 and works with TIFF's marketable investments accounting group. She was previously employed by GMAC Mortgage as a senior accountant. Prior to joining GMAC, Ms. O'Connor was a staff accountant for Arthur Andersen LLP and KPMG LLP where she audited mutual funds. She received her BS cum laude in accounting from the University of Richmond. She is a certified public accountant.

Joseph Polimeni joined TIFF in November 2006. His responsibilities include system analysis, application development, project management, and software/network support. Prior to joining TIFF, he was employed by Gartmore Global Investments (a subsidiary of Nationwide Insurance) and Pilgrim Baxter & Associates as an investment systems analyst. Mr. Polimeni also worked as director of management information systems at Ashbridge Investment Management and was employed for 10 years at CoreStates Financial as a programmer/analyst. He received his BS in management information systems from Rowan University.

Eve Rosenthal joined TIFF in February 2007. She handles administrative and operational matters for TIFF. She was previously employed by Delaware Investments where she spent 14 years as an executive assistant. Prior to her time at Delaware Investments, Ms. Rosenthal spent 18 years at Colonial Penn. She received her associates degree from Harcum College.

David Salem joined TIFF in January 1993 as its founding president.  He serves as president and chief investment officer and bears primary responsibility for TIFF’s investment activities.  Prior to assuming TIFF’s presidency, Mr. Salem was a partner in the Boston-based investment advisory firm Grantham, Mayo, Van Otterloo & Co. (GMO), where his responsibilities included asset allocation and strategic planning.  He holds a BA summa cum laude in American Studies from Middlebury College, a JD cum laude from Harvard Law School, and an MBA with high distinction from Harvard Business School, where he was elected a Baker Scholar. Brittany Sasser joined TIFF in September 2008. Ms. Sasser works with TIFF's private investment group performing research and analysis. She received her BA in anthropology with a secondary concentration in sociology from Amherst College.

Nina Scherago joined TIFF in November 1998 and is involved in all aspects of TIFF's alternative investments practices, with a focus on absolute return-oriented investing.  Prior to joining TIFF, Ms. Scherago served as managing director of private investments at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, where she oversaw a diversified portfolio of non-marketable assets the market value of which exceeded $1.2 billion.  Prior to joining the Institute, she was employed by the investment banking firms Alex. Brown & Sons and Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb.  Ms. Scherago has a BA in economics and government from Smith College and an MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.  She is also a CFA charterholder.

Fran Sebzda joined TIFF in May 2007. She is a paralegal working closely with legal and compliance staff. Prior to joining TIFF, Ms. Sebzda performed paralegal and compliance work at Citco Fund Services, Inc. and Liberty Ridge Capital, Inc. She received her AAS in paralegal studies from Delaware County Community College.

Jim Shields joined TIFF in June 2008. He serves as the chief information officer with overall responsibility for information technology at TIFF. Prior to joining TIFF, Mr. Shields spent 27 years at Delaware Investments serving in multiple roles and providing technology support during several mergers and outsourcing deals. For ten years of those 27 years, he was Delaware's chief information officer leading a technology team that supported up to two thousand users. Jim has an undergraduate degree in mathematics and an MBA in information systems, both from Saint Joseph's University.

Fran Sweatt joined TIFF in May 2007. She handles a variety of administrative and operational tasks. Ms. Sweatt was previously employed by Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman, CPA. She studied biology and computer programming at Montgomery College.

Christian Szautner joined TIFF in April 2008. He serves as the chief compliance officer (CCO) of TIFF Advisory Services, TIFF's investment adviser affiliate, and the CCO of the TIFF Investment Program mutual funds. As CCO, Mr. Szautner has overall responsibility for compliance matters involving TAS and TIP and their affiliates and serves as the key liaison with regulatory agencies. Prior to joining TIFF, Mr. Szautner was a partner in the Philadelphia office of Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP, where he practiced investment management law. He received his BA cum laude in political science from The Pennsylvania State University and his JD cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania.

John Thorndike joined TIFF in September 2004.  Working closely with TIFF's senior investment professionals, he performs a broad variety of tasks on behalf of all TIFF's investment divisions, focusing primarily on portfolio analytics and manager monitoring.  Prior to joining TIFF, Mr. Thorndike worked as an analyst in the investment office of Bowdoin College, from which he earned an AB summa cum laude in physics.

Sarah Torkelson joined TIFF in December 2005. Ms. Torkelson handles a variety of investor education matters on behalf of the TIFF Education Foundation as well as operational and administrative tasks. She was previously employed by Nomad Press, where she was an editorial and marketing assistant, and by Dartmouth College, where she was the development team nordic ski coach. She received her BA in English and environmental studies from Williams College.

Stephen Vicinelli joined TIFF in September 2003. He selects and monitors external investment advisors, focusing primarily on private equity. Prior to joining TIFF, Mr. Vicinelli spent 10 years at Morgan Stanley, holding a series of increasingly senior positions in the firm’s merger and acquisitions, corporate finance, and realty divisions.  Mr. Vicinelli spent most of these 10 years in the UK. After working in TIFF's office in London from 2003, he returned to the US and currently works in TIFF's Cambridge office.  Mr. Vicinelli received his BA in history from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Eric Weller joined TIFF in June 2007. He is responsible for the daily operations related to the private investment and absolute return vehicles. Prior to joining TIFF, Mr. Weller was employed by Chartwell Investment Partners, where he worked in the operations department as a portfolio accountant. He received his BS in business management from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Michael Winter joined TIFF in September 2005. He manages TIFF's member and outreach services. He also serves as the key member services contact for TIFF Keystone Program members. He was previously employed by Cambridge Associates as an investment performance analyst. Mr. Winter received his BS in finance from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
